Learning Journey

A transformative immersive program for high school students eager to learn about the ever-evolving business landscape that shapes everything around us.

This unique program is designed to engage motivated students, providing them with the tools and knowledge essential for future personal and professional success in the creative economy. Throughout the immersive journey of the Penn Entrepreneurship Academy, students embark on a journey focused on four key goals: developing business acumen, fostering entrepreneurship, honing leadership, and exploring potential career paths.

Through a blend of interactive lectures, engaging activities, and stimulating discussions, students are challenged to expand their cognitive horizons and develop practical competencies. Furthermore, the collaborative learning environment, with its emphasis on peer-learning opportunities and mentorship, ensures that students receive comprehensive support throughout their journey.

Business Acumen

Students will be introduced to the language of business and fundamental academic disciplines of Management. Modules will cover essential areas such as Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Strategy & Execution.

02. Entrepreneurial Mindset

Students will cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, delving into topics including business models, and
pitch decks.

Leadership Development

Through evidence-based theories, students will explore leadership and teamwork concepts. They will
delve into the "people" side of management, covering areas such as Organizational culture, Effective
leadership, Leadership assessment, and Strategic Congruence models.

Career Readiness & Exploration

Students will embark on a guided self-reflection journey to explore and articulate their career interests,
fostering college and career readiness.

What essential business skills will you learn?

  • Introduction to finance: Gain knowledge of budgeting, managing resources, and making informed financial decisions.

  • Leadership and talent management: Learn how to lead effectively, collaborate with peers, and inspire teams to achieve common goals.

Certificate of completion

University of Pennsylvania Grduate School of Education will offer a certificate of completion to students who have satisfactorily demonstrated participation and completion of the learning program and/or mastery of the learning program material. We expect learners to successfully work with their team (meet the expected contribution as agreed upon) throughout the program and to participate in the final demo preparation and pitch. 

Course Structure

Students embark on a dynamic learning journey designed to ignite intellectual curiosity and foster deep understanding of the ever-evolving business landscape. Through a carefully curated blend of lectures, recitations, and reinforcement activities, students will progress seamlessly from fundamental concepts to intricate complexities.

Participants  engage in interactive games and quizzes to solidify grasp on key concepts, while lively case discussions and simulations challenge thinking and elevate cognitive prowess to new heights. Moreover, students will immerse themselves in a vibrant community of learners, where social interactions and mentorship opportunities abound.
